Ohio State Wins DII/JC Title

Ohio State faced off against Henry Ford College in the MCRHL DII/JC Eastern Finals at Fraser Roller Hockey in Fraser, MI. 

Ohio State (D2) emerged victorious with a score of 4-2 against Henry Ford College (JC) in a closely contested game. Ohio State outshot Henry Ford College 31-27.

The first period saw Ohio State take an early lead at 8:59 when Jake Cook scored with an assist from Lukas Miller. No penalties were assessed during the period.

In the second period, Ohio State continued their offensive onslaught with Robert Strianese scoring a goal with assists from Jake Cook and Lukas Miller at 1:40. Henry Ford College responded at 8:37 with a goal from Tyler Blaszkowski, assisted by Dustin Foran. No penalties were assessed during the period.

In the third period, Henry Ford College started their comeback attempt with a goal from Dustin Foran, assisted by Spencer Morrison and Tyler Blaszkowski at 1:32. Ohio State quickly responded with a goal from Bradley Ryniawec, assisted by Robert Strianese at 2:57. Ohio State extended their lead with a short-handed goal from Robert Strianese, assisted by Louie Garcia at 9:25.

The game also saw a number of penalties assessed, with Dylan Pattenaude from Henry Ford College getting a two-minute penalty for cross-checking at 5:40 in the third period. Bradley Ryniawec from Ohio State also received a two-minute penalty for roughing at 8:07 in the third period. Robert Strianese from Ohio State received a two-minute penalty for holding at 11:54 in the third period, and Spencer Morrison from Henry Ford College received a two-minute penalty for roughing at the same time.

At the end of the game, Robert Strianese from Ohio State was awarded the first star of the game with two goals and one assist, Louie Garcia from Ohio State was awarded the second star of the game for making 25 saves with a .926 save percentage, and Jake Cook from Ohio State was awarded the third star of the game with one goal and one assist.

The game ended with a final score of 4-2 in favor of Ohio State.
