TOP SCORER, NARCh Pro, 2007 Winternationals
Everyone in the PIHA is an elite player, but there are a select few who, all by themselves, are true assets to the league, considered sure-shot superstars before game one.
Suffolk Sting's defenseman Greg Thompson, 24, is one such roller hockey luminary. Thompson is simply one of the best ever to wear inline skates.
Thompson was a member on the nation's best collegiate team, the Lindenwood Lions. He was named first-team All-American each year he played in the NCRHA Division I. Along with 4 collegiate National Championships, he was named national MVP three times.
Thompson is also a star on the tournament circuit, as a top-liner on the powerful Mission Labeda Empire Snipers. At NARCh Winternationals 2007, he was the top scorer in the Pro division.
He was a top player for Team New York, which won the Senior AAA division at State Wars in August. At the same tournament, Thompson also starred on another championship team, Team New York '85-83, which won one of the most thrilling inline hockey games in recent memory, a 3-2 cliffhanger against Michigan, to claim its title.
Overall, he is a Eight-time NARCh champion, and a 4X member of the Men's Inline Hockey Team USA. |
