More About Will
Will Roestel is the prototypical power forward, combining strength, aggressiveness, and scoring touch.  He is a senior alternate captain and the heart and soul of the Rivermen.

Last season, Roestel set a single-season school record with 39 goals in just 25 games despite suffering an MCL tear and missing the GPCIHL postseason tournament.  Will is at his deadliest on the power play, unleashing rocket shots and precise one-timers from his off-wing, usually set up by premier playmaker James Wetton.  But the big forward is also a nasty presence in front of the opposing goaltender and in battles along the boards.  He has ultra-soft hands for such a big, strong player.  Will is a proven finisher.

Roestel and Wetton have combined over the past two years to make UMSL?s power play the league?s best.  Last season, they were first and second nationally in power-play goals, combining for 32.  Roestel set a GPCIHL record with 17 power-play markers.  During league play, Roestel and Wetton combined for 18 power-play goals ? that was more than seven of nine GPCIHL DII teams.

This season, Roestel rolled up 13 points (7-6) in six games, but he has been out of the lineup since the first semester, recovering from multiple leg injuries sustained in an automobile accident during semester break.
